"Thank you so much for everything you have been doing for me. I recently heard that finding a good therapist was a bit like dating, a therapist that works for one person might not work for someone else, and I find that to be true. After searching for almost a year, I thank God that I found my way to you. Months ago, I went into your office expecting to find a way to manage my emotions at work and at home. Today I realize I got a lot more out of it. Not only am I managing my emotions now, but I have also found emotional, spiritual, and mental growth. I feel much more prepared for anything the future holds" cope."
"Scholastica has helped me so much with a variety of challenging life situations over the past couple of years and with my mental health. I believe that the outcome of the issues addressed would not have been nearly as positive without her help and assistance. I also have found it very beneficial to have her perspective and guidance from a Christian point of view. It is really reassuring to know that I can refer to her professional advice when needed as her assistance has been instrumental in helping keep my life on track and mental health in check, I am very grateful"
"I enjoyed our sessions together very much. You made me feel comfortable to share what was on my mind and you validated my experiences. I felt listened to. The feedback you gave was very helpful and insightful. I had never shared my experiences with racism with a professional before talking to you because I never felt that I could talk about those experiences and be validated. With you, I was able to talk freely about those experiences and express all the emotions that I wasn't able to express.
Thank you very much Scholastica."
"Working with Ms. Asahchop provided me with a safe environment for emotional development. She equipped me with tools to cope with and manage my emotional ups and downs. During our sessions, I would be asked questions that would allow me to reflect on my relationship with others and myself; these questions would give me the space to learn more about why I respond to things the way I do. In addition, Ms. Asahchop was sensitive to the nuanced aspects of race, culture, and other factors that affected the experiences that we talked about during our time together. As a result, I was able to better develop my self-esteem and self-expression throughout our sessions, which have helped me achieve the goals I continue to pursue today."
"At first I was reluctant to go to therapy. I wasn't sure it would make any difference to how I was feeling and I had heard from friends that it is difficult to find a therapist that is a good fit, but Scholastica's calm and compassionate nature reassured me immediately that this was a good idea and she was the person I wanted to talk to. I like the fact that Scholastica's approach is based on up-to-date research in the field, such as CBD and Trauma therapy. I found the materials she gave me to work on outside our therapy session productive and useful. She worked with me in constructing my personal history and understanding the effects of traumatic events in my life. Although I think of myself as secular in my world view, I welcomed Scholastica's knowledge of Christianity. She was always careful to ask me if I was comfortable with this knowledge. She expanded my understanding of "forgiveness" in Christianity that brought me back to my own religious roots. Sometimes you find help in unexpected places! There were times when I despaired over whether I would recover my mental health, but with persistence and the trust I built with Scholastica, her knowledge and her process, I did get back to being a happy and productive person. Thank you Scholastica, I could not have done it without you!"
"This is my first experience with counselling and I really wish I had started sooner. My grief was consuming so much of me and you helped me process that in a more healthy way. I always feel safe and respected when in my sessions. I very openly speak to people about the fact that I do participate in counselling because of the positive impact it has had in my life"
